The Ministry of Commerce Trade and Industry (MCTI) is Zambia's principal Government body responsible for administering national policy for private sector development. It coordinates industrial, commercial and trade matters and liases with various public and private sector organisations to facilitate the implementation of government sector policies related to trade and industry. This is in line with the Ministry's mission statement.

MCTI targets textile industry for job creation

Unity Garments3aThe Government of the Republic of Zambia through the Commercial, Trade and Industrial (CTI) Policy 2009 – 2014 and the Strategy Paper on Industrialization and Job Creation launched in 2013 has identified the Textile and Garment sub Sector as one of the priority sectors for Zambia’s industrialization and economic development.

Dangote Cement Plant nears completion

Dangote Cement plant under construction in Masaiti district of the Copperbelt is expected to start production this year. The over $400m investment plant will have production capacity of 4000 tones per day.

Benefits of Trade Shows

2014 ZITFA trade show is an exhibition for companies in different sectors and industries to showcase and demonstrate their new products and services. Generally trade shows are not open to the public and can only be attended by company representatives and members of the press. In Zambia, the first two or three days are restricted to trade and open to the public after the official opening.
